British writer and literary translator Amanda Hopkinson is a professor at City University. She translates from Spanish, Portuguese, and French, focusing mainly on contemporary fiction from Latin America. Recent translations include A Notebook by Jose Saramago; Affairs of State by Dominique Manotti; and Rage by Sergio Bizzio. Hopkinson writes widely on photography and is currently writing A History of Photography in Mexico (forthcoming).
