Sybille Bedford
Sybille Bedford was born in 1911, in Charlottenburg, Germany, and was brought up in Italy, England and France. She wrote nine books, including A Legacy, published as a Penguin Modern Classic, and Jigsaw, which was shortlisted for the Booker Prize in 1989. She died in London in 2006, aged 94.
